SlopeShield Plus Self-Adhered
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Located in the mountain community of Whitefish, Montana, 43 Harlequin is a custom residential project designed to perform in a climate characterized by snow, rain, and seasonal temperature swings. Protecting the roof assembly during construction while supporting long-term building durability was a key project requirement.
SlopeShield Plus SA from VaproShield was selected for its vapor permeability, allowing the roof assembly to dry while providing dependable protection from the elements. As a fully adhered, vapor permeable air barrier, SlopeShield Plus SA helps protect the roof deck from bulk water intrusion during construction while supporting moisture management within the assembly.
During construction, SlopeShield Plus SA provided durable temporary weather protection and proved easy to work with in the field. According to the standing seam roofing contractor, the membrane was "easy to work with, durable to walk on," and its "minimal buildup at folds in the dry-in simplified detailing" around complex flashing and metal roofing transitions. These characteristics helped improve installation efficiency while maintaining the high level of craftsmanship expected on a custom mountain residence.
By combining vapor permeability, durability, and installer-friendly detailing, SlopeShield Plus SA helped deliver a roof assembly designed for long-term performance in Montana's challenging climate.
